8 January 2017 On Sunday, January 8th, Mr Shafik Gabr hosted the first roundtable discussion of 2017 with Gabr Fellow alumni. The topics discussed were various Fellow action projects, the United States Presidential Elections, American progress within the country and in the global arena, changing dynamics in the 21st century, globalization currents, religious extremism, US-Egypt historic and current relations, and the path forward. Eleven Fellows from California, Michigan, Kentucky, New York, and Washington, DC attended the meeting.
